Hi, it’s nice to meet you! I am the Clinical Director at Mindful Living LLC. I am passionate and enthusiastic about aiding individuals in their mental health journey. I strive to create a safe space for clients to explore what they want to see change in their lives. I work at the client’s pace to see that change unfold. Change can be overwhelming, but with support, guidance, and a space where you can feel accepted as you are I’ve seen individuals flourish. I offer a compassionate approach offering clients a variety of modalities and educational material. I work well with a variety of cliental. I primarily serve young adults, adults, and seniors.
I aim to make my sessions collaborative with my clients, and gently will offer educational materials, dialoguing, and practical exercises in session. I am happy to be given feedback and want to encourage clients to feel like they have ownership too over our time together. I’ve been told I can be “challenging in a good way.”
I knew I wanted to be a therapist at a young age entering college with a major in Psychology already intending a track towards becoming a mental health therapist. I’ve always been attuned with others and interested in the inner workings of the human experience. I feel honored at the privilege of getting to know clients intimately and have them trust me. I am an extrovert and feel fulfilled coming out of sessions with clients. I truly feel a deep fondest for all of my clients.
When I am not in the office, I am exploring! I frequently backpack, camp, spend time with my two dogs at the dog park, cuddle my two cats, and love trying out new recipes in the kitchen. I can’t help myself though and am frequently engaged with therapeutic material outside of work to include books by Dr. Nicole LePera, Esther Perel, and Brene Brown. I listen to too many podcasts to include Rethinking Wellness, We Can Do Hard Things, Sex with Emily, Therapist Uncensored, and Pillow Talks.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland and a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health in Delaware. My career in mental health began in 2009 with my journey allowing me the opportunity to work extensively with alcohol/drug/gambling addiction and trauma. I am a National Certified Counselor, Master Addiction Counselor, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional who is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Additionally, I am a Board Approved Supervisor through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists. I have worked both in the private sector and in community mental health both offering psychotherapy and overseeing the training of graduate professionals and student interns.
I work with a variety of theoretical orientations including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, EMDR, mindfulness based strategies, trauma informed skills, and am Internal Family Systems informed. This allows the person who walks through my door to know that we have options on how to proceed in our work together. Let’s grow together!
